Overview

• First phase across 20 districts led to 50 FIRs against 94 suspects, with 44 arrests and the seizure of around 100 fake SIMs and seven thumb-impression machines.
• I4C and NCRP data flagged roughly 7,500 fake SIMs from 3,824 suspicious PoS tied to about 6,200 complaints, forming the basis for data-driven targeting.
• Sidhi emerged as the biggest hotspot with about 1,000 dubious connections, while Chhatarpur, Datia, Dindori and Shivpuri also recorded high volumes.
• Investigators say many SIMs were funneled to rackets operating across Indian states and used by syndicates in Cambodia and Thailand.
• Police are extending operations to remaining districts and will probe potential telecom staff collusion, hawala channels and possible terror links.
