• Chatterjee said she broke down in tears on the set of Raj Khosla’s 1973 film Kuchhe Dhaage after seeing a backless blouse and short skirt designed by Mani J. Rabadi.
• She called her husband, Jayanta Mukherjee, to send her back to Kolkata but agreed to complete the shoot after he reassured her.
• The actress declined Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s Guddi at 16 because it required a short skirt, a part later given to Jaya Bachchan that became a cult classic.
