Thousands of mourners in traditional Zulu outfits gathered for the state funeral of Mangosuthu Buthelezi in South Africa.
Buthelezi was a veteran politician, Zulu prince, and controversial figure during the apartheid struggle.
He founded the Inkatha Freedom Party in 1975 and later reconciled with the ANC.
Buthelezi served as Minister of Home Affairs in post-apartheid South Africa.
He participated in South Africa's first democratic national election in 1994.
