Mountaintop Studios Secures $30M Funding with Celebrity Angel Investors
Funds to be used for the development of a new tactical FPS game, set to be revealed later this year.
- Mountaintop Studios, co-founded by Oculus alumni Nate Mitchell and Matt Hansen in 2020, has secured $30 million in a new funding round, with participation from top creators and celebrity angel investors such as Shroud, Tarik, iiTzTimmy, Cohh Carnage, Sacriel, Grammy-Award winner Zedd, and NBA's Paul George.
- The funding will be used to support the development of Mountaintop's debut title, a tactical FPS game, which is set to be revealed later this year.
- The studio plans to leverage the relationships with these creators, some of whom are former esports pros, to validate the studio's concept and progress.
- Anthos Capital led the funding round, with participation from RX3 Growth Partners, Andreessen Horowitz, Abstract, vgames, BoxGroup, and Spark Capital. Zack Zaharis from Anthos Capital will join the studio's board.
- Mountaintop Studios is currently hiring and playtesting their upcoming game, and the public can sign up to playtest the unannounced tactical shooter on the official Mountaintop website.
