Motorcyclist Survives Five Days in Idaho Wilderness After Crash

Zachary DeMoss, 24, sustained severe injuries and drank creek water to stay alive until rescued by a family friend.

DeMoss crashed his motorcycle on August 11 and was found on August 16 near Lost Creek Campground.
He survived by drinking water from a creek using his leather jacket to collect it.
Search efforts by authorities were scaled back, but family and friends continued to look for him.
Greg Common, a family friend, ultimately found DeMoss and alerted emergency services using a satellite device.
DeMoss is now recovering from multiple injuries, including broken bones and a collapsed lung.
