Overview

• Louisville Metro Police responded shortly after midnight to a collision at 2nd and Market Streets downtown.
• Preliminary findings indicate a northbound car began a right turn onto Market Street from the center lane.
• A northbound motorcyclist traveling at a high rate of speed struck the car’s passenger side and lost control.
• The rider was taken to UofL Hospital and later died, while the car’s driver was not injured.
