Motorcyclist Charged with Murder in Georgia State Trooper's Death

A 21-year-old motorcyclist, Gerson Danilo Ayala Rodriguez, led Georgia State Trooper Jimmy Cenescar on a high-speed chase, reaching speeds over 140 mph.
Trooper Cenescar lost control of his vehicle during the pursuit on I-85, resulting in a fatal crash.
Rodriguez, who lacked a valid driver's license and license plate, was arrested and charged with murder, vehicular homicide, and other offenses.
The incident marks the fifth officer to die in the line of duty in the U.S. in 2024, with two being from Georgia.
Rodriguez was denied bond at his first court appearance and remains in Gwinnett jail.
