Motorcycle Production in Manaus Hits Best First Half Since 2011
The result signals sustained consumer demand and operational resilience in Brazil's motorcycle sector.
Overview
- Abraciclo data released Monday showed Polo Industrial de Manaus produced 1,063,397 motorcycles in January–June 2026, a 6.3% rise and the strongest first-half result since 2011.
- National registrations reached a record about 1.17 million units in the same period, up 14.1% year-on-year and reflecting broad demand across Brazilian states.
- Exports from Manaus climbed 29.4% to 24,084 units in H1 2026 even though total overseas shipments remain small versus domestic sales; Abraciclo left its full-year 2026 forecasts unchanged at roughly 2.07 million units produced and 2.3 million registrations.
- June output fell to 130,875 units, down 15.1% year-on-year and 29.9% from May, a drop Abraciclo attributed to planned collective factory vacations and maintenance before the World Cup and therefore treated as temporary.
- Production remains concentrated in low-displacement models, which made up about 77–78% of volumes led by Street, Trail and Motoneta categories, while higher-displacement bikes showed the fastest proportional growth and could reshape dealer mixes and servicing demand.
