Moto3 Sighting-Lap Crash at Sepang Triggers Airlift and Revised Sunday Schedule

Organizers issued a new race order following the airlift of both riders.

  • Newly crowned Moto3 champion Jose Antonio Rueda and Noah Dettwiler were conscious and were airlifted to a local hospital after their sighting-lap collision.
  • Moto3 will restart at 13:40 local time as a 10-lap race after the red flag and long delay.
  • The race order has been changed, with MotoGP now running second at 15:00 local and Moto2 moved to 16:30 as the finale.
  • The crash occurred exiting Turn 3 between Turns 3 and 4, when Rueda struck the rear of Dettwiler’s bike, sending the rest of the field back to the pits.
  • Rueda had qualified third and his grid position will be empty, while reports of a technical issue on Dettwiler’s machine remain unconfirmed.
