Overview

  • Sophie, a disabled single mum from Derbyshire, reported her four-year-old son’s pram stolen from the poolside trolley area during a mid-May stay at Butlin’s Skegness.
  • Resort staff told her to rent another pram for £21 for the rest of her break and refused to check CCTV footage of the theft.
  • She and her disabled 10-year-old daughter struggled to carry heavy bags of wet clothes back to their apartment without the pram.
  • Three days later the original pram was returned to the external trolley park with a post-it note reading “loaned for 5 min, sorry + thank you.”
  • Butlin’s has declined to comment on security enhancements and has not responded to her calls for better pram protections.
