Mother Sentenced to 20 Years for Smothering Twin Daughters

- Tenia Campbell, a 28-year-old mother from New York, has been sentenced to 20 years to life in prison for smothering her 2-year-old twin daughters, Jasmine and Jaida, to death in 2019.
- Campbell's mother, Vanessa McQueen, called 911 on the day of the murders, reporting that her daughter was threatening to kill herself and her daughters.
- Campbell was found with her deceased daughters in her vehicle at the entrance to Montauk County Park, following a large-scale search by multiple police departments.
- Campbell, who had a history of mental health issues including bipolar disorder, depression, and anxiety, admitted to the murders and pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree murder in December.
- In addition to the murder sentence, Campbell was also sentenced on additional charges of attempted assault for punching correction officers at the Suffolk County Jail.
