Overview
- On Thursday the mother of Noelia Castillo Ramos filed criminal complaints with the public prosecutors in Barcelona and Tarragona asking them to investigate two alleged sexual assaults her daughter described in writing.
- The family says the filings include a handwritten diary and other documents that, they allege, contain names, phone numbers and details that could help identify the suspects.
- According to the account provided to prosecutors, one alleged attack was by Noelia’s then-partner and the other took place in Salou where she says she was drugged and raped by three men; three days after the second attack in 2022 she attempted suicide and was left paraplegic.
- Noelia received euthanasia on 26 March 2026 after years of legal battles in which Spain’s Constitutional Court and the European Court of Human Rights rejected last‑minute appeals to block the procedure.
- The Fundación Española de Abogados Cristianos represents the mother and has asked prosecutors to open formal inquiries; the prosecutor’s offices will now decide whether the submitted material is enough to launch investigations that could lead to identification and criminal charges.
