Overview
- Swetha, a 33-year-old housewife from HMT Township, Lingampalli, was traveling with her two children to her native village in Andhra Pradesh during summer vacation.
- The family mistakenly boarded the wrong coach (D-3 instead of D-8) of the Janmabhoomi Express at Lingampalli railway station on Sunday morning.
- Upon reaching Charlapalli station, Swetha attempted to switch to the correct coach, placing her children inside first, but fell between the moving train and platform while trying to board herself.
- Swetha sustained fatal injuries and died on the spot; her body was transported to Gandhi Hospital for an autopsy by the Government Railway Police (GRP).
- The GRP has launched an investigation into the incident to determine any further contributing factors or lapses.
