Mother Charged with Murder of Two-Year-Old Daughter Found in Hampshire Pond

The child, Annabel Mackey, was found unresponsive in Kingsley Pond in September 2023 and died the following day in hospital.

Alice Mackey, 42, has been charged with the murder of her two-year-old daughter, Annabel Mackey, and is being held in custody.
Annabel was reported missing from her home in Kingsley, Hampshire, on September 10, 2023, and was later found unresponsive in Kingsley Pond.
The child was hospitalized in serious condition but passed away the following afternoon, on September 11, 2023.
Alice Mackey, a teacher, was previously detained under the Mental Health Act before being formally charged with murder.
Annabel’s father, Peter Mackey, described her as a “shining star” with a caring and positive nature, and neighbors remembered her as a happy and lovely young girl.
