Overview

• Police responded around 4:40 a.m. to an apartment complex near Dobson and Broadway roads in Mesa.
• Officers say a man broke into a unit where a family was sleeping and stabbed a 16-year-old first.
• The 16-year-old escaped to a friend’s home about a mile away and called for help.
• The attacker then stabbed the mother and an 18-year-old daughter before fleeing, and all three victims are expected to survive.
• No arrest has been made and Mesa Police describe the case as an active investigation with no suspect information released.
