Mother and Daughter Die After Being Swept Away in Swollen Connecticut River

A woman and her 5-year-old daughter drowned in the swollen Shetucket River in Connecticut while swimming.
The incident occurred near River Park in Sprague, Connecticut.
The woman was pronounced dead at Backus Hospital, while her daughter later died at Connecticut Children's Medical Center.
