Mosaic Brands to Close All Stores, Resulting in Thousands of Job Losses

The collapse of the Australian retail group will shutter nine fashion brands, leaving nearly 3,000 workers unemployed and creditors owed millions.

Mosaic Brands' receivers announced the closure of its last two chains, Millers and Noni B, after failing to find buyers.
The shutdown will result in the closure of 252 stores and the loss of 933 additional jobs, bringing total job losses to nearly 3,000 since the group's collapse in October 2024.
All nine of Mosaic's brands, including Rivers, Katies, and Rockmans, will cease operations by mid-April following liquidation sales to clear remaining stock.
The company entered voluntary administration owing $249 million to creditors, including $30 million to garment factories in Bangladesh, putting additional workers at risk overseas.
Retail experts cite declining consumer spending and high interest rates as contributing factors to Mosaic's financial downfall.
