Overview
- Cold Symmetry published the free Rotten Autumn update on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, and the console build appears as Mortal Shell 2 update 1.000.14 on PS5.
- The patch adds 15 new dungeons, increasing the base game's 36 dungeons by almost half and expanding the game's exploration and endgame content.
- Players receive new systems and customization options including Photo Mode, new shell shades and cosmetics, lighting and Overkill graphics presets, and an alternate soundtrack by Rotting Christ’s Sakis Tolis.
- Gameplay changes include 10 new Tarstones that modify weapon perks and abilities, one of which turns the player into a sheep, plus new items such as a Harbinger pumpkin helmet and an Impervious Lute skin.
- The update bundles a broad stability and polish pass that fixes stutters, softlocks, summon and targeting problems, weapon re-equip bugs and several exploit issues, and developers said they may issue hotfixes if new problems appear.
