Overview
- Airbus confirmed the contract at the Dubai Airshow for Royal Moroccan Air Force use in combat search and rescue.
- Each H225M will feature a double hoist, a searchlight and a Safran Euroflir 410 sensor, with provisions for machine guns and an electronic warfare suite.
- The acquisition replaces Morocco’s Puma helicopters that have served for about 40 years after an initial 1974 purchase and a 2007 modernization.
- The deal includes connected support services intended to expand Moroccan facilities into a maintenance, repair and overhaul center for West Africa.
- Airbus declined to disclose the contract value, and the order follows a similar H225M purchase by the Netherlands.
