Country Star Apologizes, Says 'No Excuse' for His Actions, and Discusses Efforts to Educate Himself

Morgan Wallen, the country music star, has spoken publicly for the first time in two years about his use of a racial slur in 2021, stating that there is 'no excuse' for his actions.
Wallen expressed frustration at being labeled a racist, stating that he is 'not that guy' and that he put himself in a 'sh-t spot'.
Following the incident, Wallen met with several Black leaders in the music industry and organizations such as the Black Music Action Coalition (BMAC) in an effort to educate himself.
Despite the controversy, Wallen's music career has bounced back, with his latest album topping multiple charts and his concerts selling out.
Wallen has also engaged in charitable efforts, donating $500,000 to organizations including The National Museum of African American Music, Rock Against Racism and the BMAC.
