Morgan Scalley Named Successor to Utah Utes Head Coach Kyle Whittingham

Scalley, currently the defensive coordinator, will take over whenever Whittingham retires, with no set timetable for the transition.

Athletic director Mark Harlan announced the succession plan on Monday.
Scalley has been with Utah's coaching staff for 17 years and is in his ninth season as defensive coordinator.
Whittingham, 64, has led Utah's football program for 20 seasons, achieving a record 162 wins.
The Utes are transitioning from the Pac-12 to the Big 12 Conference this fall.
Scalley previously lost the 'coach in waiting' title in 2020 following a controversy.
