Morgan Geyser Seeks Third Release from Psychiatric Hospital

Geyser, involved in the 2014 Slender Man stabbing case, petitions for release citing state examination laws.

Morgan Geyser, 22, has filed a petition for release from Winnebago Mental Health Institute, marking her third attempt in two years.
Geyser was sentenced to 40 years in a mental hospital after pleading guilty to attempted first-degree intentional homicide in 2018.
She and Anissa Weier attacked their classmate Payton Leutner in 2014, claiming it was to appease the fictional character Slender Man.
Weier was released in 2021 under conditions, including living with her father and wearing a GPS monitor.
Judge Michael Bohren has scheduled a hearing for November 1 to evaluate Geyser's latest release request.
