Moreno Calls for 'New Reconciliation' and Overhaul of Spain's Financing at Andalucista Anniversary in Almería

  • Speaking at the LX Anniversary event of the Second Generation Andalucista at the University of Almería, Juanma Moreno used his keynote to set out political and institutional priorities.
  • He urged a redesigned national financing model to end what he described as privileges granted to some northern territories to the detriment of southern regions.
  • He said Spain "needs a new reconciliation" to move beyond sectarianism through listening, respect and dialogue.
  • Positioning Andalusia as more ambitious, he cited the region as Spain's third economy and highlighted export strength along with agricultural, tourism and technology sectors.
  • The university, the Alejandro Rojas-Marcos Foundation and the Almería city council announced a Chair on the history of andalucismo backed by a long-preserved archive now digitized with over 30,000 documents.
