Morena Launches Nationwide Assemblies to Form 71,541 Neighborhood Committees

Overview

  • Roughly 6,000 simultaneous assemblies kicked off on August 17 as the first step in organizing 71,541 Comités Seccionales across Mexico.
  • National president Luisa María Alcalde Luján and Secretary of Organization Andrés Manuel López Beltrán are mentoring and coordinating the rollout in every state.
  • Local committees have already been installed and officers elected in sections of Coyoacán, Michoacán, Jalisco and Guadalajara.
  • Morena reports eight million affiliated members and is mobilizing toward a ten million membership goal before year-end through neighborhood drives.
  • Each committee will handle affiliation, voter outreach, community needs assessment and defense of the Cuarta Transformación through assemblies continuing every weekend until January 24, 2026.
