Morena Baccarin and Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson Join 'Masters of the Universe' Live-Action Reboot

Amazon MGM Studios' adaptation of the iconic Mattel franchise adds major talent as it gears up for a June 2026 theatrical release.

Morena Baccarin will portray The Sorceress, a mystical guardian of Castle Grayskull, while Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson takes on the role of Fisto, a warrior with a distinctive metal fist.
The film, directed by Travis Knight ('Bumblebee'), features a screenplay by Chris Buttler with earlier drafts by David Callaham and the Nee Brothers.
The cast includes Nicholas Galitzine as Prince Adam/He-Man, Jared Leto as Skeletor, Camila Mendes as Teela, and Idris Elba as Man-At-Arms, among others.
Based on the iconic 1980s Mattel toy line and animated series, this marks the first live-action 'Masters of the Universe' movie since the 1987 Dolph Lundgren-starring adaptation.
The movie is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on June 5, 2026, produced by Escape Artists and Mattel Films.
