Overview
- The event runs October 8–10 at Morelia’s convention center with more than 600 expected participants from over 40 countries.
- Organizers plan a cooperation agreement among Michoacán’s government, the Tequila Regulatory Council and oriGIn to establish a Latin America regional antenna in the state.
- The program includes keynote lectures, specialized panels, cultural activities and the Expo IGs showcasing products such as Colombian coffee and Argentine Miraflores honey.
- Opening ceremonies feature a symbolic cutting of Parmigiano Reggiano and Cotija cheeses, and the closing will present the first Premio Michoacán al Producto de Origen and international GI Champion awards.
- Eighty exhibitors are slated to participate—11 international, 35 national and 31 from Michoacán—with panelists or representatives arriving from 16 countries.
