- Mayor Alfonso Martínez Alcázar and DIF municipal president Paola Delgadillo Hernández placed the first stone to launch construction of the Casa del Adulto Mayor.
- The 2,000+ square meter facility in Jesús del Monte will feature four dedicated blocks housing physical activity zones, workshops, dining areas, and preventive health services.
- Backed by a 55 million peso FAIS grant, the center will serve up to 500 functionally independent seniors per day and directly impact more than 25,000 residents within a five-kilometer radius.
- The project marks a shift from institutional care to an active-aging model that emphasizes autonomy, social engagement and preventive health.
- Officials expect construction to finish and welcome users in the first quarter of 2026.
