Overview

• As of June 2025, over 2.5 million Premium Bond prizes worth more than £103 million remain unclaimed, including eleven £100,000 prizes and dozens of £50,000 and £25,000 awards.
• In the 2024–25 financial year, NS&I’s tracing services and My Lost Account scheme reunited over £166 million across 52,693 accounts.
• NS&I paid out £6.2 million from 192,071 previously unclaimed prizes to 51,310 bondholders, sustaining a 99% payout rate since the scheme began.
• Premium Bond prizes are designated unclaimed after 18 months but can be claimed at any time, and holdings inactive for 15 years are also flagged for tracing.
• Customers are advised to choose direct bank payouts or automatic reinvestment of winnings and to keep their contact details up to date to avoid missing future prizes.
