Moradabad Administration Orders SP to Vacate Mulayam Singh Yadav’s Bungalow

The administration says the SP failed to reassign the lease after Mulayam Singh Yadav’s death, voiding the allotment under state land rules.

Overview

  • District Magistrate Anuj Kumar Singh cancelled the bungalow’s 1994 allotment and gave the Samajwadi Party 30 days to hand back the property.
  • The bungalow spans roughly 1,000 square metres on nazul land in Civil Lines near the Police Training College and was rented at ₹250 per month.
  • State regulations void state-land allotments when original occupants die, and the SP did not transfer the lease after Mulayam Singh Yadav’s death in 2022.
  • A comparable eviction notice has been issued for the SP’s Shahjahanpur office as the administration moves to reclaim party-held government sites.
  • Samajwadi Party leaders have branded the order politically driven and say they will pursue legal remedies to challenge the eviction.
