MoonPay and Dunamu Announce Exploratory Stablecoin Collaboration

The review could test whether linking MoonPay's global payments network with Dunamu's GIWA Layer 2 enables stablecoin cross-border payments, corporate treasury tools, expanded GIWA access.

Overview

  • MoonPay and Dunamu said they will jointly evaluate how stablecoins might be used for cross-border payments, international fund transfers and corporate treasury operations.
  • The companies plan to study technical and commercial integration that would link MoonPay’s global payments network with Dunamu’s GIWA, an OP Stack Ethereum Layer 2 operated with Optimism support.
  • Both firms described the effort as exploratory and gave no launch timeline, financial terms, list of supported stablecoins or details on settlement, custody or jurisdictional availability.
  • Dunamu expects to use MoonPay’s overseas partner network to help GIWA-based services and digital assets reach foreign markets if a viable model emerges.
  • The move builds on Dunamu’s earlier enterprise pilots and talks with Visa and on MoonPay’s recent push into South Korea, and could reshape how companies move corporate funds across borders if commercial and regulatory hurdles are resolved.
