Moonlight Recalls California-Grown Peaches Nationwide Over Listeria Risk

Facility testing triggered the recall, with officials urging customers to discard identified lots.

  • Moonlight initiated the action after Listeria monocytogenes was detected in the packing facility environment.
  • Affected fruit bears facility code P1 with PLU stickers 4044 or 4401 on loose peaches and specified UPCs and lot codes on multi-packs.
  • The recall includes Moonlight-branded peaches and some Kroger yellow peaches sold at major chains such as Kroger, Trader Joe's, Sprouts and Food Lion.
  • Consumers should discard or return the peaches and can call 855-215-5017 with questions; products labeled "Washington" or "Organic" are not included and no illnesses have been reported.
