Mookie Betts Hits Historic First Home Run of 2024 MLB Season in Seoul, Wins Car

Los Angeles Dodgers' Mookie Betts made history by hitting the first MLB home run of the season in South Korea, marking a milestone with multiple firsts.

Mookie Betts, playing for the Los Angeles Dodgers, became the first player to hit a home run in the 2024 MLB season during the Seoul Series against the San Diego Padres.
The home run also marked the first MLB home run ever hit on South Korean soil, making Seoul the seventh country to witness an MLB home run.
Betts' 400-foot homer off Padres pitcher Michael King came in the bottom of the fifth inning of a game that ended in a 15-11 loss for the Dodgers.
In addition to making history, Betts was awarded an IONIQ 5 electric vehicle from Hyundai, the official sponsor of the Seoul Series, for his historic hit.
Betts finished the game with four hits, two runs scored, a walk, six RBIs, and came a triple shy of hitting for the cycle.
