The Montreal Victoire edged the Ottawa Charge 2-1 in a Professional Women’s Hockey League game at the Canadian Tire Centre on Friday night.
Mikyla Grant-Mentis, a former Charge player, scored the decisive goal late in the second period, marking a personal triumph against her former team.
Victoire captain Marie-Philip Poulin also contributed a goal, while goaltender Elaine Chuli made 29 saves, including a critical stop in the final minute of play.
The Charge, playing in front of a franchise-record crowd of 11,065 fans, struggled in the early periods but showed improvement in the third, with Ashton Bell scoring their lone goal.
The game marked the first time the Charge played at the Canadian Tire Centre, with both teams set to resume their seasons later in December.
