Overview
- The storm has degraded into a deep depression moving north–northwest toward Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha, with red alerts in parts of Telangana and rainfall warnings extending to Bihar and West Bengal into Oct 31–Nov 2.
- Deluges in Telangana flooded Warangal, Hanamkonda and Mahabubabad, submerged tracks at Warangal and Dornakal, halted and diverted trains, and led to school closures and targeted rescues.
- In Andhra Pradesh, officials reported at least two deaths, more than 1.8 lakh people moved to relief camps and damage to over 1.50 lakh acres of crops, with large power and infrastructure restoration drives underway.
- Odisha authorities cited landslides and damage to roads, bridges and homes in southern districts, shifting alerts to yellow as the system weakened and teams continued assessments and repairs.
- Across affected states, earlier flight cancellations and widespread rail disruptions compounded outages, fishermen were told to stay off the Bay of Bengal, and NDRF/SDRF crews remained deployed for rescue and relief.
