Overview

  • The Kigo mobile application went live August 1 at 8,300 designated Centro parking spaces, retiring the 80-year-old coin-based meters.
  • The hourly parking rate rises to 8 pesos from 2.50 pesos, marking the first tariff update in 25 years.
  • Thirty-five inspectors are deployed throughout the Centro area to assist drivers with app setup, and first-time users receive three free hours of parking.
  • Motorists without app access can pay in cash at 200 authorized establishments or via SMS through the Kigo platform.
  • A second phase adding 3,700 spaces in Zona Tec is scheduled for September, with a third stage set to expand coverage in 2026.
