• Montana Mobile IDs are live for residents to add state driver’s licenses and IDs to Apple Wallet on iPhone and Apple Watch and to Google Wallet on Android.
• Businesses can verify digital IDs using the new Montana Mobile ID Verifier app on iOS and Android, with acceptance limited to participating locations and MVD kiosks.
• Enrollment involves photographing the front and back of the physical card and submitting a short facial video for Montana MVD review before activation.
• The Montana Highway Patrol is expected to gain mobile ID verification capability by the end of the year.
• Apple Wallet ID support now includes Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Hawaii, Iowa, Maryland, Montana, New Mexico, Ohio, and Puerto Rico, while Google Wallet lists eight supported states including Montana.
