Monster Hunter Wilds Prologue Demo Coming to Switch 2

Players can download the free Prologue on Monday, try the opening chapters, transfer demo saves into the full game, open digital pre-orders.

Overview

  • Capcom will release the free Prologue demo on Monday, Oct. 19 in North America and Oct. 20 in Europe so Switch 2 owners can try the game before purchase.
  • The demo covers the start of the campaign up to the beginning of Chapter 1‑3, lets players use the full character creator and all 14 weapon types, and allows save data to carry over into the full game.
  • Local multiplayer is supported in the Prologue but online multiplayer is not available in the demo, with full online and cross‑platform play reserved for the shipped title.
  • Digital pre-orders for Monster Hunter Wilds open the same day as the demo and the full Switch 2 release remains scheduled for December 4, 2026, followed by the Ascendance expansion in 2027.
  • The Prologue gives Switch 2 owners a chance to test performance and local co‑op on the hybrid console before buying and could influence early player impressions and sales ahead of launch.
