Monster Hunter Wilds 1.021 Update Debuts 9★ Endgame, Triggers Crashing Bug

Capcom has confirmed a hotfix for the crashing bug, scheduling phased CPU and GPU optimizations in its winter update.

Overview

  • Version 1.021 added high-difficulty nine-star Tempered monsters for hunters at Rank 100 or above and introduced a randomized talisman reward system via Glowing Stones.
  • The patch rolled out broad balance changes and quality-of-life tweaks across multiple weapon types to enhance endgame combat variety.
  • A crash bug that occurs when players faint and fast-travel back to camp has prompted Capcom to issue a mandatory hotfix, Ver.1.021.01.00, before online play resumes.
  • Despite earlier fixes in Title Update 2—including DLSS4, FSR4 support, shader and anti-cheat improvements, and faster texture streaming—PC performance and stability remain problematic and Steam reviews are still mostly negative.
  • Capcom plans a phased optimization roadmap starting with CPU load reductions in the winter Title Update 4, followed by additional CPU and GPU mitigation measures thereafter.
