Monster Hunter Outlanders Brings Full Third-Person Monster Hunter to Mobile

Tencent’s mobile adaptation mirrors mainline combat, progression, multiplayer systems, offering Classic and Adventure modes for different skill levels.

Overview

  • Pocket Gamer reports Monster Hunter Outlanders is now available on iOS and Android as a full third-person Monster Hunter experience developed by Tencent.
  • The game launches with a new region called Aesoland and new threats including an Elder Dragon named Ruger Aidal plus a class of foes called Radiant Monsters.
  • Outlanders offers two control modes: Classic, which aims to reproduce mainline complexity and difficulty on touchscreens, and Adventure, which simplifies inputs and pacing for newcomers or players of Monster Hunter Now.
  • Players can hunt solo, team up with up to three other players, or bring NPC companions (Palico, Rutaco, Trillan) to fill roles during cooperative and solo hunts.
  • Core systems stress preparation and exploration with crafting, environmental hazards like extreme heat and cold, telegraphed monster attacks that reward dodging and weak‑point targeting, and mechanics such as Topple, Vulnerable and Burst that shape combat strategy.
