Monsoon Van Mahotsavs Launch in Uttar Pradesh and Delhi to Plant Millions of Saplings

Both states have set ambitious planting targets to drive community involvement in monsoon greening efforts.

Overview

  • President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated Uttar Pradesh’s monsoon plantation drive in Gorakhpur on July 2, kicking off a campaign aiming for 35 crore new saplings.

  • Delhi’s Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa said the city will plant more than 70 lakh saplings during the month-long festival, engaging schools, colleges and residential societies.
