Overview

• IMD has issued red alerts for parts of Madhya Pradesh and Kerala with orange and yellow warnings in Karnataka and Maharashtra, forecasting heavy rain through July 30.
• Operators opened 15 gates at Bargi Dam after catchment rains swelled the Narmada River, submerging ghats at Gwarighat, Tilwaraghat and Bhedaghat.
• Jogitikariya bridge on the Dindori–Jabalpur route was inundated by the Narmada River, prompting traffic diversions and deployment of police, Home Guard and SDRF teams.
• Kerala authorities opened shutters at Banasura Sagar and Moozhiyar reservoirs and issued flood warnings for the Manimala, Pamba and Achankovil rivers.
• Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre warned of floods downstream of Krishnarajasagar and Tungabhadra reservoirs as rising inflows threatened low-lying areas.
