Overview

  • Rail lines at Sawai Madhopur station were under roughly 2.5–3 feet of water, disabling signals and delaying trains on routes to Jaipur, Delhi and Mumbai.
  • Road connectivity was cut in places as the Bodal culvert on NH‑552 collapsed again and the Nimod–Tigaria culvert was breached amid rising Morel River levels.
  • Authorities closed schools in Baran district due to waterlogging, issued local travel advisories, and suspended safaris in Ranthambore Tiger Reserve.
  • Flood-like conditions extended to Sultanpur, Digod and parts of Bundi and Kota, with streets under 2–3 feet of water and a bridge over the Shyamu River flooded at Namana.
  • The Regional Met Centre in Jaipur issued a short-term red alert for Sawai Madhopur and a subsequent yellow alert, as IMD projected continued rainfall from August 22–26 with nationwide weekly totals 22% above the long‑period average.
