Overview

  • The North American monsoon interacting with Tropical Waves 16 and 17 is delivering 75–150 mm of rain to Veracruz, Oaxaca and Chiapas and very heavy showers to Nayarit, Sinaloa, Durango and Chihuahua, increasing flash‐flood and landslide risks.
  • CONAGUA is monitoring two Pacific low‐pressure systems, including one south of Guerrero with a 60 percent chance of cyclonic development within seven days.
  • A persistent heat ridge is driving daytime highs above 45 °C across Sonora, Baja California and parts of Baja California Sur, prompting extreme heat watches.
  • Argentina’s SMN has issued yellow rainfall alerts for Neuquén, Río Negro and Chubut, where drizzle and cold conditions keep temperatures near 10 °C in the south.
  • Córdoba is under a polar cold snap with dawn lows around 5 °C and northerly gusts of 42–50 km/h, while Buenos Aires remains cool and dry with a high of about 14 °C today.
