Mongolia Confirms December Fuel Orders: 219,400 Tonnes From Russia, 11,200 From China

Officials say Mongolia relies entirely on imported fuel dominated by Russian supply.

  • The ministry’s December plan from Russia covers 83,600 tonnes of AI-92 gasoline, 134,240 tonnes of diesel and 1,560 tonnes of AI-95.
  • A separate order has been sent to suppliers in China for 11,200 tonnes of fuel this month.
  • As of 08:20 on the reporting day, 458 cistern rail wagons were on the network carrying petroleum products, including 328 of diesel, 63 of AI-92, 5 of AI-95, 32 of jet fuel, 17 of propane and 9 of butane.
  • The 63 AI-92 wagons were headed to Tolgoit (37), Ulaanbaatar (12), Sainshand (10) and Arshaant (4).
  • From December 1–15, border checkpoints received 23,484 tonnes of AI-92, 81,600 tonnes of diesel and 3,795 tonnes of TS-1 jet fuel, according to the ministry.
