Overview

  • The recall covers four multipack cartons—8-count, 20-count and 40-count Ritz Peanut Butter Cracker Sandwiches as well as a 20-count variety pack—bearing plant codes AE, AM or RJ and best-by dates from November 2025 through January 2026.
  • Defective supplier-supplied packaging film led individual wrappers to be mislabeled as the cheese variety despite containing peanut butter, while all outer cartons display the correct peanut allergen warning.
  • Mondelez initiated the voluntary recall on July 8 in coordination with the FDA and has launched corrective measures to strengthen packaging quality controls.
  • Affected sandwich crackers sold nationwide at major retailers including Walmart and Target have been removed from shelves, and consumers are urged to discard any impacted packages.
  • No allergic reactions have been reported, and consumers with questions can contact Mondelez’s 24/7 recall hotline at 1-844-366-1171.
