Mohamed Hadid, father of supermodels Gigi and Bella Hadid, recently created controversy by comparing Israel to Nazi Germany and the Gaza Strip to concentration camps in a now-deleted post on Instagram.
In his social media post, Hadid highlighted what he saw as similarities between the two, such as racial supremacy, expulsion methods, and dehumanizing language, sparking widespread backlash and criticism.
Hadid's daughters, Gigi and Bella Hadid, have also publicly expressed their views on the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict, calling for a ceasefire and expressing empathy for the Palestinian struggle.
The Israeli government condemned Gigi Hadid's repost on Instagram which maintained that condemning the Israeli government's treatment of Palestinians is not antisemitic.
The family has a historic connection to the issue as Mohamed Hadid himself was born in Nazareth and became a refugee at 9 days old. Despite the criticism, the Hadids continue to voice their opinions on this contentious issue.
