Modi’s Two-Day Assam Visit to Launch Amrit Bharat Trains, Lay Kaziranga Corridor Foundation

Overview

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to arrive in Guwahati on January 17 for a two-day visit.
• He is set to watch the Bagurumba dance performed by 10,000 artists at Guwahati’s Arjun Bhogeswar Barua Sports Stadium that evening.
• On January 18 in Kaliabor, he is scheduled to lay the foundation stone for the Rs 6,957-crore Kaziranga elevated corridor.
• He is slated to virtually flag off two Amrit Bharat Express services: Dibrugarh–Gomti Nagar (Lucknow) and Kamakhya–Rohtak.
• The programme includes a public meeting to be addressed by the prime minister at Kaliabor.
