Overview

  • On day one in Ahmedabad, Mehsana and Gandhinagar, the Prime Minister inaugurated and laid foundations for works worth about Rs 5,477 crore across rail, roads, power, housing and urban services.
  • He dedicated railway upgrades exceeding Rs 1,400 crore, including doubling of the 65 km MehsanaPalanpur line, gauge conversions on the Kalol–Kadi–Katosan and Bechraji–Ranuj routes, and flagged off a Katosan Road–Sabarmati passenger service and a car-loaded freight train from Bechraji.
  • Power distribution modernisation under the RDSS was launched in Ahmedabad, Mehsana and Gandhinagar, with projects of roughly Rs 1,000–1,122 crore aimed to cut losses and improve reliability for about 4.25 lakh consumers.
  • In urban initiatives, Modi inaugurated 1,449 PMAY (Urban) homes and 130 shops at Ramapir Tekra and backed AUDA’s plan to convert Sardar Patel Ring Road into a six‑lane controlled‑access corridor under the hybrid annuity mode.
  • For August 26, the schedule includes flagging off exports of Suzuki’s e‑Vitara BEV from Hansalpur to over 100 countries and inaugurating local production of hybrid battery electrodes at the TDS lithium‑ion plant to deepen domestic EV value addition.
