Overview
- Officials announced the Prime Minister will inaugurate 1,449 houses and 130 shops built under PMAY (Urban) in Ahmedabad at a cost of ₹133.42 crore on August 25.
- The Ahmedabad project is an in-situ slum redevelopment at Ramapir Tekra (Sector-3) implemented under the 2013 Slum Rehabilitation and Redevelopment Policy.
- On August 26, he will inaugurate a Maruti Suzuki facility at Hansalpur in the Mandal-Becharaji Special Investment Region before returning to New Delhi.
- Across Gujarat under PMAY (Urban), 9.66 lakh houses have been sanctioned against a 7.64 lakh target, with about 9.07 lakh already completed, according to officials.
- From 2025–26 the state provides a ₹50,000 roof-cast top-up per house under PMAY (Rural), with 34,759 beneficiaries receiving ₹173.80 crore so far.
