Modi to Virtually Launch Maharashtra Short-Term Skills Programme on Oct. 9

Online admissions via the DVET portal with low fees target rapid, industry-ready upskilling across Maharashtra.

Overview

  • 2,506 batches will begin the same day across 419 government ITIs and 141 technical schools, with a plan to train 75,000 people annually.
  • Courses cover emerging and traditional trades including EVs, solar energy, AI, IoT, cybersecurity, green hydrogen, drone tech, additive manufacturing, aerospace fitting, mobile repair, and social media.
  • Training runs outside regular institute hours using existing facilities, with 25% of seats reserved for current institute students and fees set at ₹1,000–₹5,000 per month.
  • Eligibility extends to current and past ITI trainees, diploma and degree students, and those who have completed Class 10 or 12, with registration at https://admission.dvet.gov.in.
  • Targeted features include 364 women-only batches, 408 batches in emerging fields, inclusive courses for differently-abled students at a Latur private ITI, a new semiconductor technician trade for girls at ITI Dadar, port driver training at Vadhavan, and event-specific training for the Kumbh Mela.
